Mintronics Christmas and 2018

Happy Christmas and lets have a healthy New Year

We had a very good 2018, the business Mintronics has progressed, perhaps this is the main reason why the news page is not updated like it should be, we are always busy!

Alibre has continued its upwards trajectory and we are excited about the coming 2019 release, we had the opportunity to meet with Alibre management at our resellers event in Athens September and discuss all the plans for 2019 release.

The main point is that our customers are now driving the product development, the feedback through the forum and technical support now goes directly to the developers and in some cases to the Alibre Chiefs. Your voices are being listened to!

Since Alibre returned to the new/old management its true to say that many hundreds of old customers have returned to the fold, upgraded their software and taken extra licences, in the past six months the number of new customers has also increased and whilst our competitors might not agree we do have a large and rapidly expanding user base.

During the summer Alibre Atom3D was launched.

This version was aimed at new people to 3D and hobbyists, on the back of this Mintronics / Alibre together with editor of the Model Engineer magazine and the Model Engineers Workshop made Alibre Atom3D available for six months free to their magazine subscribers along with a monthly tutorial. We are now into month four and the uptake has been excellent, we have plans to organise one day workshops at different locations as an extra to the magazine tutorials. Then attendees can ask questions and we work through a few examples. We will publish the dates and locations early in the new Year.

During 2018 we organised several of our own Events, first at GoPrint3D Ripon where we held a joint seminar to show how to model / design for 3D printing with Alibre and scan to CAD for reverse engineering using Geomagic Design X.

We took the road show to Aberdeen later in the year and concentrated on Alibre Design and afternoon how Geomagic Design X and Control X work for the energy industry. We were ably assisted by our customer Angus3D Systems who made the connection between CAD and manufacture.

In between we attend as many Rise and Design Events with the Design Network North, sometimes exhibiting and often just listening.

Sales of the reverse engineering from Geomagic have grown exponentially during 2018 as we have taken the technology into new areas for example drone and underwater scanning. There remain many new areas to examine whilst we have not ignored the core use for 3D scanning and reverse engineering.

For 2019 we see a major new release for Alibre heading our way, we anticipate many more partner products linking to Alibre, for example this year we had EZCAM, Mechsoft and Simlab.

We intend to launch a number of new satellite websites to supply extra information about our partner products, we will continue with our own events and organise throughout the country so all can have an opportunity to view a good part of the Mintronics offering.

For Christmas we are closing Friday 21st and reopening on the 2nd February, for those home workers if you have a challenge please email business@mintronics.co.uk we will do our best.
